How Do the Animals Move Around?

Fish swim, birds fly, wolves run, and snails slide and curl. All animals can move at some stage in their life cycle, allowing organisms to more easily take over new ecological niches, stalking their prey. Some animals, such as sponges and corals, are nearly immobile when fully grown, but are able to move before their larvae take root on the seafloor. This is one of the most important features that distinguish animals from plants.

The ways animals move around have a huge list including walking, flying, swimming, hopping, sliding, hovering, crawling, wiggling, and gliding.
