Seas and oceans make up 71% of the earth’s surface. Distribution of the seas and oceans according to the hemispheres differs.
The area covered by the seas and oceans in the Southern Hemisphere is greater than in the Northern Hemisphere. That is why the Southern Hemisphere is also called the water hemisphere.

There are 5 oceans on our planet. These oceans are also close to the seas. The names of the oceans are as follows; the Pacific Ocean, Atlantic Ocean, Indian Ocean, Southern Ocean, and Arctic Ocean.
