G3 GRAMMAR

Identifying the Correctly Capitalized Sentence #2

Learning the rules about the use of capital letters, which is among the grammar topics, is very important in spelling.

Based on the spelling rules, it is important to know where capital letters are used in order to use the language correctly. As a general distinction, proper nouns, and names given to single entities begin with a capital letter. General names given to entities are written in lowercase.

Sentences begin with a capital letter. However, if the sentence following the semicolon in sequential sentences does not begin with a proper noun, the sentence starts with a lowercase letter.
