Subtraction is the second math operation children learn. We use daily objects that they can engage and connect with to teach subtraction in the first place, then we go on with the single-digit operations.

In subtraction, we encounter three different concepts. The first of these concepts is the minuend, the decreasing number. That is, when a number is given, subtraction is made over this number and the number is subtracted.

The subtrahend is the second element of subtraction. In transactions, it is located just below the minuend. The difference is the result of this operation. A transaction results in a difference as a result.
