Weight Measurement

Measurement can be defined as the observation of objects and the expression of the results in numbers or symbols.

The following sequence is followed in teaching the concept of measure to the child:

  1. Comparison- sorting (length-volume)
  2. Measurement with non-standard units of measurement
  3. Measurement with standard units of measurement

Weight Measurement

Mass is the amount of matter an object has. It is measured in units such as kg, gr, ounces, and pounds. Weight is the gravitational force applied to an object, the unit of which is Newton. However, these two concepts are interchanged in daily life.

Children encounter weight measurements in the market and on the street and get a lot of information about it. Comparisons such as which is light and which is heavy allow them to rule this feature.
